Jay Z launches TIDAL streaming service

30 03 2015

Rapper Jay Z has launched streaming service TIDAL, which he acquired last month with Scandinavian platform Aspiro in a $56m deal.

The service, which offers two subscriptions for $9.99 and $19.99 a month, boasts 'Standard sound quality. High definition music videos. Expertly curated editorial', and has been supported online by stars including Rihanna, Madonna, Kanye West and Beyoncé, who all turned their Twitter profiles blue to celebrate the launch. Taylor Swift has added her music to TIDAL's online catalogue, after famously removing it from rival service Spotify.
